Finland’s Leading Housing Event Attracted More Visitors

The largest construction, renovation and interior design event in Pirkanmaa, the Asta Fair, was held from 30 January to 1 February 2026. Together with the simultaneously organized Tampere Wedding & Celebration Exhibition, nearly 12,500 visitors attended the Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre over the three-day fair weekend — more than 20 percent more than the previous year.

More than 220 exhibitors took part, offering everything from plots and house packages to kitchens, interior trends, and indoor air and ventilation solutions.

“The fair had a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and many conversations reflected a positive outlook for the future. Housing is always a timely topic despite challenging times,” summarizes Paula Karhu, Project Manager at Tampereen Messut.

Growing Interest in Housing Themes

The increase in visitor numbers and exhibitors sends encouraging signals that interest in homebuilding, renovation and interior design is strengthening, even though decisions are still being made carefully.

“Based on this fair, it feels like detached house construction may be on the rise again in Pirkanmaa. We’ve met many people who own plots, already have building permits or are in the process of applying for one. Interest seems to be returning. In addition to wonderful encounters, we’ve also received requests for quotations — something you don’t often get at fairs with this type of product,” says Kati Kuru from Kymppi-Lattiat Oy.

Positive messages were also heard from the kitchen sector.

“A really great feeling throughout the weekend, and it seems people are now once again making their dreams come true. The pent-up need for building and renovation is gradually being released. The positive momentum is visible among consumers, and we’ve noticed it here at the fair stand over the weekend,” concludes Noblessa retailer Jani Rajakangas.

Several municipalities were also present at the fair showcasing their available plots and housing opportunities. The event provided an excellent opportunity to discuss hopes and expectations with people searching for their future residential area.

Charity Auction Supports Tampere Children’s Clinic Foundation

The traditional auction organized by Puusuutarit in connection with the fair raised a total of €3,350, which will be donated to Tampere Children’s Clinic Support Association (Tampereen Lastenklinikan Tuki ry).

At the same time as Asta Fair, Tampere Wedding & Celebration Exhibition was held on Saturday and Sunday. With an Asta ticket, visitors could also explore this event, which featured impressive fashion shows and diverse programming around wedding and celebration planning themes.

The Asta Fair will be held again next year from 5 to 7 February 2027 at the Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre.
